Claude Gloden: Certainly. You just need to eat the right combinations of food, so that you get enough protein and healthy fats in your diet. Where some vegetarians mess up is not getting enough proteins, but if you do, you can build mass, absolutely. A step beyond vegetarian is vegan, and if you can build mass on a vegan diet, you certainly can do so on a vegetarian diet. Here are some example of some vegan athletes, several of whom show solid muscle mass - if they can build muscle, you can do it as well: http://www.greatveganathletes.com/And here's something from the NY Times on a vegan diet and athletics. Again, that's not a vegetarian diet, but since a vegan diet is more restrictive, if they can do it, a vegetarian can as well:http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/06/20/can-athle......Show more

Dick Ovdenk: yes however it is much more difficult you must understand we are omnivores we are intended to eat meat and veggies if you need proof l! ook at our teeth
Hwa Waterford: of course but they will require vegan proteins to do so take a look at Danial Bryan the wrestler as he bills himself as the toughest vegan in the world he's not a big guy but he has a pretty decent build for a smaller guy.
