HELP!!conditions of war in the eastern frontWWI?????

Tyree Allenbrand: Here is a link to key battles on the Eastern Front:http://www.firstworldwar.com/battles/ef.htmThe length of the eastern front was much longer than than the western front. Trench warfare didn't dominate in the East as it did in the West. Greater territorials gains were made in the East by both sides, only to be lost again. This was because supply & communication lines were stretched too thin. Conditions would have been as bad in the East as the West. Weather was a factor as well as the Alps. There were instances were Italian soldiers lived in mountain caves. They had to deal with avalanches in these mountanous areas....Show more

Jerrod Guilfoil: If someone from another vicinity grew to become the water off for your residence, might you battle to get it again? Because the sector developed its financial system and infrastructure on oil as a substitute than past oil, the Middle East now represents the jugular vein of the sector's sustenance. Are ! you inclined to simply stand by way of whilst a few small institution of fans cuts it off due to the fact they consider it is good enough so that you can return to donkey carts like they're? Are you equipped to show your nation down to outlive on it is possess assets and watch the relaxation of the sector's international locations starve to dying? Well, if this is the case, I'm with you guy. The US has the creativity and the highbrow capital to truthfully do this. Drill extra right here, increase the grid with choices and pull the army out of all international lands. ALL international lands. An Cardine: The Eastern Front was in Poland and Russia, and the war there, unlike France, was a war of maneuver, large armies preparing and executing large scale battles. At first, it was troops from Aus! tria-Hungary that did the bulk of the fighting, and not very w! ell, because they which were not of the quality of German troops. The Russian army was large and in some units very well prepared, trained, and equipped to fight,. The Russians could not supply their army, however, and lost opportunities and squandered the successes it did have. The Germans also fought very effectively with large artillery batteries, which more than compensated for their numerical inferiority to the Russians. In the end, the Russians got very demoralized with their government's and leader's failures to lead and supply them. With the Russian troops mutinous, the Germans sent in Lenin and his Communist friends to help overthrow the Czar, and then the Communists sued for peace.http://www.richthofen.com/ww1sum2/...Show more

Veta Slicker: Well, it was very cold in the winter, which is always a huge factor. It was also almost unbearable due to trench warfare. Water with dead bodies formed in the trenches, causing trenchfoot. Most of the war was at a stalemat! e. See, when germany tried to invade they were pushed back which led to trench warfare. Gas was also a huge factor, armies would send poison gas into the enemys trenches. There were mortors flying everywhere exploding, mines. Basically it sucked. Everyone was in fear, and if you watch the movie all quiet on the western front you will see some of the horrors of the war. They were constantly in fear. No one knew how to fight a trenchwar, they would send soldiers over the top of the trench just to be mowed down by machine guns, but if you didnt go, you were shot. There was a auroa of fear....Show more
