Rolanda Merritt: Yes, this can be done. I am a single mom and I homeschool my 11 and 13 year old kids. Since my kids are younger I do send them to a university model school. They attend the school 2 days per week for their core classes and are given work to do at home the other 3 days per week. I homeschooled them 5 days per week in the spring. You have to be very organized and very committed. Luckily I work from home quite a bit so I'm available to help them when needed. You would have to write out lesson plans and assign him work while you are working and then you'll have to check it when you return to make sure your child is doing the work and understanding it. You could do the teaching in the evening if he/she needs to be taught....and he/she could do the assignments the next day. Good Luck!...Show more
Oren Eskelsen: It really depends on the student and how committed they are to their school work. You could do it but if the kid is going to goof off than ! it's not going to be successful. With the Mom working full time, the kid is going to have to do a lot of the homework herself. And why not online? That would help out tremendously. It's a lot harder for the Mom if it's not online. With working on top of it, it may be too much for her.
Luana Carothers: It is illegal for the parent to teacher their children, you can't do that anymore, you have to hire a teacher or something, but online school is the way to go, it is free.try connections academy.
Tyree Allenbrand: Sure you can. If your child is mature and responsible and cares about his or her education. If you trust your child to stay home alone, and do his or her work while you are gone. Or, you can do the work when you are home. Homeschool takes fewer hours than traditional school-time. I would wonder what my child was doing though, if I were working 8 hours. Maybe someone could check up on him or her during the day. Check your state laws of course. And ! The Taskmaster-TrollSlayer-⢠(trademarked?!) knows nothing! ! Homeschooling is legal in all states....Show more
Bernie Cerra: You mean legally, or realistically? Honestly, it probably can't be done effectively.
