Opinion from preschool moms?

Cordia Fivecoat: All 2 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous are hook up with their mothers and fathers this is not a concern. while you're fortunate adequate to be a stay at abode mom then your son would not choose preschool. There are determine and baby play communities the place your baby will study socialization and such. Preschools and daycares selection by using States based on the coaching of the academics and aides. right here in Hawaii you opt for a diploma to educate in a preschool. And preschools are plenty greater possibly to hire aides who're working in direction of a diploma in Early early life practise....Show more

Mildred Pombo: i have worked at a preschool for 14 yrs. and music and or spanish is something that should not be part of the curriculum. play and social skills should come first.

Buster Exline: I truthfully think that they are asking too much to have a 3 year old sit still for about an hour straight of a 3 hour day. I would suggest to t! he teacher that they either do a quick excersize between sit-sown activites, or change the schedule so they are not back to back anymore.Just a thought...is your daughter really active at home? does she like to do kind of daring things? My son is a gross motor seeker...he needs to move to be able to DO things. He even talks better if he is moving in some way when he is talking. He regularly climbs on the back of my couch, does "cartwheels" off of it, does headstands on it, Likes to "surf" on my washer during the spin cycle, etc. if this is the case you may want to read a book called " the out of sync child" which is about sensory issues. if your child has sensory problems that are being made worse by the preschool schedule I believe they have to make reasonable accomidations for her under the americans with disabilities act or even (IDEA). the book will also give you ideas on how her sensory issues are effecting behavior....Show more

Raven Purl: I would say hang in the! re. She may just be more active than the usual 3 year old. A! lso, some of the other kids may be slight older. Even a few months difference in age can make a huge difference in attention span.It does seem strange to me that the sitting down time is almost an hour straight. That is a long time for a 3 year old to sit still. Maybe find another center with a better schedule or talk to the director about the schedule.Since, it is only a couple hours a day I say stick with it. It is good for her to learn about routines before kindergarten. Maybe you can try some quiet times at home such as reading to work on her "sitting still" abilities. Good luck!...Show more

Jorge Detlefs: If this is her first time in any kind of school, it will be hard for her to observe school discipline at first. The teacher may be comparing her to kids who have been in daycare for years and are more used to the rules. I would work with it or she will have the same problem when she starts at four.PS I would not expect a three year old to sit still but she! should be able to stay in one place and not be disruptive...Show more

Avis Brantner: Your child is still an active three year old afterall. I would say just stick with it and see how it goes, it will take a period of adjustment for her. Maybe she needs more than two months.

Derrick Kloke: I think the teacher may have unreasonable expectations for a 3 year old. I would speak to the director of the daycare, tell her what the teacher has said to you, and ask her opinion about your daughter. My son is very active, and has been in daycare full time since infancy. Every time he moves up to the next room, I get grief from the teachers. I speak with the director, and she straightens things out. I have also discussed with my pediatrician, and my mom and sister who are both child psychologists to make sure that my son is developing properly for his age. Everyone says he's perfect, smart and very energetic....Show more
