Can two computers be networked together...?

Cecil Derenzi: yes they can......use a crossover cable or a hub then enable file sharing

Maynard Reevers: Yes,The methods areinstall an extra LAN card on one PC, and use cross cable to connect, if you have the knowledge of networking, if no visit here ( http://www.ertyu.org/steven_nikkel/ethernetcables.... ) or buy it from computer Shop, after connecting physically, keep them on same workgroup, For workgroup Right click My Computer -> Properties->Select Computer Name Tab check here for workgroup, the Workgroup name must be same on both PC,Now give an ip address to in manually or assign it automatically as u wish for manual you must be keep ip address in same class if you know other wise choose automatically,now ping both of them with each other, if you know ping command this is like go to command prompt and write ::-ping 192.168.1.6 IP address of second PC, this is only an example, This is one method You can get success, If You can'tThen open My Network Places ->V! iew Network Connections- Here you can see both of the connections internet connection and lan card, Now select both of them and Right click on it, there Will be a option , Bridge Connection, click on it, And it will make a bridge for both of the connections, This is also a Method of getting Connected if You face trouble...Show more

Bailey Lares: Yes, even if they have Linux and WIndows OS, can be networked together. For this you need a Cross-over cable and Network Card in your both computers. Connect the computers with Cross-over cable and assign different IP like 192.168.0.1 for one and 192.158.0.2 for other and same subnet mask 255.255.255.0 but Computer name must be different....Show more

Antonia Mogg: both of XP and Vista r usin IP packets to transfer their data across the network. so u can transfer ur data between of 'em without any prob. . . if u had some other kind of OS like netware u had to use some bridge, but now u dont.

Chi Alfero: yes!! just ! make sure that the systems are using the same IP type. Vista h! as a new one. u may have to disable it.
