Bud Espenshade: I would ask in the forums at Car-Seat.org. Lots of "car seat geeks" hang out there and you ought to be able to get a more expert recommendation than you would here. Another person to ask is Estelle at the weird looking URL below. Her analysis of the Consumer Reports car seat safety ratings was quoted all over the Internet, and when Consumer Reports retracted the findings, the reasons were all the same things she had said in her critique. There's an email link on her blog....Show more
Rosalva Steinmann: any infant seat will work they are easy to put in and take out. as far as a car seat for and extended cab that has the side seat there isn't one that is good to use as the seats aren't made to hold a care seat.
Jene Kostyla: Does it have a passenger side airbag? If so, it should have a way to be disabled or NO carseat is good.Any rear-facing carseat should be fine so long as there is no air bag. My husband's truck has a place to put the key to ! turn off the airbag on passenger's side.EDIT: Duh, sorry, just saw that you said it has no airbags... so any rear-facing seat is fine....Show more
Todd Stogner: I can't remember what its called...but there is an infant seat there is designed for these situations, it looks like an egg (sorta), it is expensive. If you have to ise a regular seat, it is legal, just not as safe...Good Luck!...Show more
Erin Arron: In our current truck the car seat can't be in the center because it's kinda necessary to be able to shift while driving (manual).
Lauri Ohl: They don't make special car seats for trucks best thing you could do is shop around. As small as your truck looks i wouldn't go to big on the car seat.
Wally Gower: I have an extended cab and I use a normal infant car seat...It fits well for me. But I'm a small person so I don't really need much space in the front. When my husband drives it, he usually put my son behind the passenger's seat instead. It ! doesn't seem to cause my any trouble. The space seems big eno! ugh for me. But I guess it depends on the space you need in the front.Mine is somewhat like this. It is made by Eddie Bauer, but a different design. http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-2/qid=11......Show more
Adrian Paraz: So part of the deal is that the entire car seat will have to be easy to put in and take out, as sometimes the baby will have to use the passenger seat, and sometimes and adult. Also, I read that not all car seats fit in the back seat of extended cabs, but I can't find much info on which DO fit.
Janean Guz: Well, you have to work with what you got. Any rear facing seat it good. Just make sure you put the baby in the middle away from the side windows. If possible you could get a car seat with a canopy, and if something were to happen the canopy could protect the babie's face.
